1998 Colheita Port
In Stock
This uniquely Californian Port was made from the traditional Portuguese varietals grown here in the hillsides of Amador County. Although many producers in California produce Port inspired wines from the Zinfandel grape, we have chosen this traditional approach because of our grower’s conviction in the ability of the Portuguese varieties of Touriga, Alvaraho, Tinta Cao and Souzao to flourish in the Sierra Foothills. This Colheita Port has been barrel aged in oak for ten years.
Colheita is the Portuguese word for "vintage." On the label of a bottle of port, colheita indicates that the bottle is not vintage port but rather a tawny port harvested in the indicated year and aged in wood for a minimum of 7 years.
