Black cherry, plum and fine pipe tobacco immediately jump out of the glass. Aromas of mint and other fine herbs evolve after just a few minutes making this a beautifully complex and interesting wine. Dark and full bodied with well-balanced natural acidity, our 2015 Tempranillo is loaded with juicy ripe cherry, dried fig and a hint of vanilla. Seamless from front to back and graced with ultra-fine grain tannins, this wine will age well over the next 10 years. Drink now through 2027.
The 2015 vintage was excellent overall. It was the earliest and most compact harvest on record for us here at Renwood Winery. Due to ongoing drought conditions, yields were down a bit compared to the previous vintage, but fruit balance and physiological ripeness were optimal across all varieties. Smaller berries and resulting clusters have produced wines of significant intensity, color and grace. To say we are excited about the wines from 2015 would be an understatement!
